Laurel Therapy is a group practice whose mission is to meet the current demand for high quality private therapy while nurturing and empowering emerging therapist talent through supervision and the intentional building of collaborative professional community.

Employer Provides Employees with:

Weekly individual or triadic and group supervision for prelicensed therapists with a supervisor heavily invested in employee professional development and success
Annual budget for professional development
Expectations of Employees:
Provide high quality therapy to a minimum of 8 clients or couples per week. Prelicensed therapists may see a maximum of 20 clients per week (80% licensed/65% prelicensed)
Pre-licensed employees attend weekly individual or triadic supervision and group supervision (15%)
Complete required documentation from previous week by Sunday at 9pm, including session notes, diagnoses and treatment plans, and notes from consultation and care coordination calls with other providers (10%)
Engage in ongoing education and training (5%)
Keep an updated calendar on SimplePractice with current availability accurately reflected at all times (2%)
Communicate with clients, colleagues, and supervisors in a timely manner (2%)
Submit hours worked by due date to allow enough time to process payroll (1%)
Comply with all mandatory reporting responsibilities
Communicate with owner/supervisor immediately about any mandated reports made or at-risk clients requiring a safety plan, Tarasoff report, or hospitalization
Maintain an active registration or license with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or license with the Board of Psychology
Conduct oneself in a professional manner in professional and online spaces, including social media
Demonstrate the highest compliance with legal and ethical standards of the field
Responsibility of Owner:
Timely payment for services
All financial and legal management of the company
Nurture a positive work environment focused on the success of clients and employees alike, where clients feel supported and therapists are free to explore their professional identity and interests
All marketing, promotion, and public-facing information to attract clients and referral partners
Provide HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms to offer online therapy services, including a backup service in case of technical problems
Provide administrative foundation to employees so they can focus on giving their clients the best care
Provide individual and group supervision to prelicensed employees
Regular community meetings to foster professional relationships and support among all employees
Encourage and provide funding for ongoing professional development of employees
Compliance with all federal and state tax requirements
