In the initial stages of our sessions, we'll take the time to build a connection, ensuring that we are compatible and establishing mutual goals for our collaboration. From there, I'll maintain regular check-ins to ensure that your voice is heard and that we address the matters that are significant to you in a manner that promotes productivity and safety. Feel free to ask any questions. My intention is to demystify therapy and make it accessible to all.

My approach to therapy is casual and conversational. I believe that healing occurs within healthy relationships, and that starts in the therapy room. I bring my authentic self into every session so that you can bring your authentic self into the world.
I am a client-centered therapist and believe in meeting you where you are on any given day. I believe in empowering you to explore at your own pace and will focus on the goals that matter most to you.
I’m passionate about EMDR therapy and the potential for profound, long-lasting healing it can bring. As an EMDR therapist, I take a holistic approach to your wellness. You are more than your symptoms and hardships. Integrating your experiences and feeling stronger is possible.

I earned a Masters degree from Pepperdine University in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am fully trained in EMDR therapy and use that as a modality often. I'm also trained in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy approach, which focuses on improving communication, reducing conflict, and creating shared meaning. I have worked in a variety of settings and have experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in clinical and non-profit settings.

Alexis’ Take On Therapy
My superpower is helping people feel safe and connected to their people, their values, and their bodies after long term stress, trauma, and anxiety. My clients are often young adults, professionals, or couples who want a space where they can finally exhale.
Much of my work centers on trauma recovery through EMDR therapy. As an EMDR therapist, I support clients who want relief from memories or the sense that past experiences still dictate the present. My approach is special in that I do ample preparation, skills training, and resourcing before we ever talk about something upsetting. This way, you feel more prepared to handle the emotions and body sensations that are part of trauma healing. EMDR allows clients to process trauma in a way that feels manageable, reducing the intensity of distressing memories and creating room for healing.
I also work with people experiencing burnout. Burnout is emotional, physical, and mental depletion that can make life unmanageable. Through therapy for burnout, I help clients understand the root causes of exhaustion and guide them toward balance. My approach to burnout therapy emphasizes both practical strategies and deeper exploration, so you can find not only relief but also sustainable ways to move forward.
For couples, I offer Gottman Method Couples Therapy, an evidence-based approach that provides tools to strengthen connection and reduce conflict. I create a structured space where partners can practice healthier communication and rebuild trust. Relationships are one of the most powerful places where healing can happen. I love helping couples find that sense of safety and closeness again.
Another area of focus for me is working as a therapist for young adults and providing therapy for teenagers. Adolescence and young adulthood bring unique challenges: questions about identity, relationships, career choices, and independence. As a young adult therapist, I provide a grounded, nonjudgmental space for clients to sort through these transitions and build confidence in who they are becoming.
I also work with anxiety in many forms. From racing thoughts to panic attacks to the constant sense of being on edge. As an anxiety therapist in Los Angeles and San Francisco, I help clients uncover what drives their anxiety and build strategies to calm both mind and body.
For me, therapy is not just about resolving problems; it’s about building resilience, meaning, and connection. Whether you’re searching for an EMDR therapist Los Angeles, couples therapy in Los Angeles, couples therapy San Francisco, Santa Cruz couples counseling, or support with burnout, my goal is to walk alongside you with compassion, steadiness, and practical tools for lasting change.
Get to know Alexis
Before I was a therapist I worked in public relations. I got to tell the stories of organizations and the people who represent them. As a therapist, my clients are the storytellers and I get to support them as they write the next chapter.
What I love about being a therapist is being a witness to the journey of each of my clients. I'm there to support you through challenges, but I also get to celebrate your wins.
I'm really interested in the evolution of identity. Our sense of self is shaped by our life experiences, our relationships, our culture, and our values. Identity is dynamic and I love working with clients as they explore and interact with various parts of themselves.
In my free time I love to travel to interesting places, read great books, and cuddle up with my cat, Finn.
